- Describe your art in 5 or more words:
«Storm, emotion, calm, love, element»
In his works of art Alex depicts an abstract femenine universe of bright colours and pure emotions. His layered canvas captures unique impressions of various life episodes that each person decodes differently.
Main characters in Alex’s artworks are inspired by the unexpectedness of nature. Tito’s women are natural elements, they are full of various emotions, they are spontaneous and unpredictable. Alex holds that art is about emotions, and so are women. He believes that every person is in constant flux, as we experience diversity of emotions that switch every moment. To him, women are the most honest and vivid about this contradictory internal world. Alex perceives females as sun and storm at a time, and so he finds inspiration in this constant contrast.
Furthermore, keeping up with his hic et nunc* philosophy, he always strikes to draw the moment. Therefore, all his pieces are multi-layered, created throughout a long period of time as the main goal for Alex is to capture his true emotions at that very second of artistic process. He makes the first coat and leaves canvas for an unsettled amount of time, until he has an impulse to continue working on it with fresh thoughts and bright emotions. This method not only adds uniqueness to the painting, but also makes it very honest and pure.
*literal: here and now / meaning: living the moment
«I like each picture to have at least 5 layers, as you can see the way it was made.»
Alex defines art as the best way of emotional communication between the artist and spectator. For him art is there to help people hear each other’s and their own thoughts, dreams, and feelings. He believes in healing features of arts in a way that pieces enable people to get to know their own internal environment. Alex describes it as mirroring when he translates certain emotions during the creation process and then it boomerangs back to him in a place of spectator, helping him to understand his own nature better. Core of his style is the energy he puts in, thus the most important thing for this artist is enabling his audience to learn about their internal character more.
At the same time, he claims art to be extremely subjective, thus he would never know the interpretation of the viewer. More than that, artist rejects any kind of imposition of his individual reading of arts to others, to the extent that soon he wants to get rid of the names for paintings. He believes it is essential for every spectator to find his own connotation and interpretation of characters, colours and emotions.
«Let everyone see what they want to see.»
He stands for deliberate non-following trends, but following one’s self, because only you know what is best for you. Thus, the most significant aim of his oeuvre is to remind spectators to listen to themselves every single moment.
«It’s better to be with YOURself, listen to YOURself, do what YOU want to do and always remember that you can do ANYTHING if you follow your intuition.»
